Making Money with Apps!

Free to Use & Public Domain Smartphone Clip Art
If you are anything like me you would love to get paid to do some of the things we have to do in life, like grocery shopping.  Now you really can if you have a smartphone.  I originally posted this page in January of 2016 and I update it as I find new great apps.  I will only add an app after it measures up and I hope that each of you will take advantage of the rebates at your fingertips!

My new favorite money making app is Ibotta!!! You can log-in via PC or smartphone and unlock rebates, verify your purchases as you put them away and it's done.  You can join me by clicking the link above or you can download the Ibotta app and use the referral code: uyfbpym.  You will get a $10 bonus when you verify your first purchase and you only need $20 worth of rebates to cash out!  I have only been using this app for about a month and I have already gotten $31.25 back.  I bought things I would normally buy, like bananas, milk, bread and a few other things.

The rebates added up in no time and I chose to transfer the money to my Paypal account.  I think I am most amazed by the speed with which the money moved from Ibotta to Paypal.  It says it can take up to 48 hours, but for me it was instant!  You can also transfer your cash to a Venmo account or choose from 19 gift cards with a minimum transfer of $20-$25.  I am going to continue to use this app to it's fullest and will see, but hey if I can even get $15 to 25 a month that's $180 to $300 a year...not too shabby.

I have to say I definitely give Ibotta a thumbs up! It's easy to use, I get rebates on things I buy all the time and they don't all have to be fancy name brands either!  I really love that part!  Plus with payment transfers being so versatile I can let my rebates add up and cash them in when I need them or need a gift card!

Now, you can also open  ShopKicks before you go shopping to see what "kickbates" are available ....or when you go out shopping to see if you are near any retailers offering "kicks" that day.  If you are going by one simply open the app before you walk in the door for any "walk-in" points that are available and scan a few items to earn extra points.  Sometimes there are even bonus points for purchasing certain items.

My sister introduced me to this App called ShopKicks last summer and I have been testing it out for about 6 months now.  I noticed that there is more opportunity to earn "kicks" when you first sign-up and if you work or live near a shopping mall, but even with my main food and household shopping done at Food Lion and Walmart I have still been able to earn $14 in Walmart gift cards.

With this app there are currently 41 rewards to choose from.  They range from using 75 kicks to get a point on your AE rewards card to using 1,875,000 for a Vespa scooter. Some of the other rewards you can turn in for include charitable donations, small electronics and gift cards.  So far I have gone for the $2 Walmart gift card for 500 points and I have redeemed  over 4000 points that helped me save on some shopping over the holidays.

When you open the ShopKicks App you can view stores in your area offering "kicks" for scanning the UPC barcode on certain items in the store and sometimes just for walking in the door, deals that work like digital coupons on your phone, and products that are being featured.  Plus there are bonus "kicks"  when you open the app and when you scan through the products annnnd if you see something you really like you can save it in a favorites list that you can come back to later.

I would say that I give this app a thumbs up.   I really could have earned a lot more points if I kept my phone charged or wasn't in a hurry shopping a few times and if I remembered to open it every time I was out shopping, so I would say the rewards are pretty fairly priced and it adds a little fun back to grocery shopping when you get free money just to walk through the door.

Soooo if you haven't already clicked on one of the ShopKick links in this article, please join me today and get paid to go shopping.  This is some of the easiest and funnest ways to earn some pocket change that I have done yet. (Shopkicks info updated 11/8/16)
