Josh and I got to show her around town a little and she spoiled us and the kids as much as she possibly could while she was here. We got to show her the Library, the kids' schools, Josh's work, and the Regional Park. She treated Aiden to the Tiger Cub supplies and uniform he needed to get a great start in scouts (I will have pictures of that on Tuesday for our first Pack meeting) . Plus she treated us all to a shopping trip at the Goodwill today.
Goodwill is one of my favorite places to shop! We got some awesome deals today with their $.99 sale going on. The kids all came home with their new Halloween costumes. I got a couple of new sweaters and new pants, Josh got some new shirts and pants and Grandma Dee Dee found some new scrubs and shoes for herself.
I am SUPER excited about the kids Halloween costumes. We hooked Aiden up with a SpiderMan costume for $3.99 and a neat mask to go with it for $2.99. For the girls we got Awesome matching princess dresses for just $.99 each for a grand total of $8.96 + tax for costumes for all the kids! If you compare that to the costume packages at Wal-mart that run $19.96 and up each that is a savings of $50.92!!! I will probably end up spending another $10 or so adding glow in the dark embellishments and maybe some new leggings or shirts for the girls to wear under theirs, but still even a $40 savings is great when you are buying for 3.
Another thing I love about the girls Halloween dresses is that these are made good enough to put in their dress up clothes and they will be able to play "Princess" for a long time past Halloween!
We were sad to see Momma leave today, but she had to get back to work and we have a crazy week ahead. Aiden and I made crazy socks for the first day of "Spirit Week", Tuesday is crazy hair day (and Aiden wants a blue Mohawk), Wednesday is Favorite Sports Team day (Let's go Hokies!), Thursday is crazy hat day (I have a great Jester's hat for that one) and Friday will be the Walk-a-thon) Plus Aiden's first pack meeting will be on Tuesday night.
For now... I think it's time to get some rest and relaxation time in before starting in on another busy week in the morning.
