Star of the week!!!

After two weeks of writing sentences related to his misbehavior at school, we got a full week of green card behavior and Aiden got picked for "Star of the Week".  He was very careful to check the board every name to make sure his name was not written up there for bad behavior and he checked his card just to make sure he told me the right color at the end of each day for the week.  Score two for team "Mom and Dad" he's learning honesty and responsibility all with just one little punishment...Of course, if you ask Aiden it was two big punishments.. LoL...
Aiden said he was really scared at his friends house last night because their night light wasn't working and it was really really dark in his friends room, but he finally got to sleep.  He did end up waking up "a whole hour" before everyone else and got to watch some TV while he waited for everyone else to get up.  Otherwise it sounds like he had lots of fun and he made it all the way to about 8:30 a.m. before he realized how much he missed me.

So, instead of going to church with his friend and staying until his Daddy got off work, he had them bring him home.  Poor kid regretted coming home as soon as his friend pulled away and he wished he had stayed, but it actually turned out to be a good thing, because it took him all day to get his Star of the week poster finished.

His teacher said she had a picture of him to put in the middle, so we took care of the rest and I think he did a Stellar job.  Aiden picked out all of the colors and only asked for a little help with the coloring, otherwise he worked on it on and off until he was satisfied with the outcome.  I will have to wait until tomorrow after school to find out if the "Star" gets to do anything special other than telling their classmates about themselves and showing off their poster. Last year the "Star" got to be the line leader for the week and had a couple of other luxuries for the week too.

This week Aiden has made me proud by behaving at school, being brave at his sleepover, being honest about his card color, being responsible, and just for being himself!  I love my baby to the moon and back and I love the "Little Man" he is growing up to be.
