We had all sorts of fun today! #Lowe'sBuilandGrow

This week we had two new recruits for the Lowe's Build and grow clinic!  The project was "Binoculars" and the kids were excited to be able to go "bird watching" once their projects were completed.  The workshops are usually the 2nd Saturday of each month at 10 a.m. and you can register in advance to make sure they have a kit available for you and your child.  It looks like this month there will be two workshops and registration begins Monday for the "Fire truck with ladder" project on September 27, 2014.

This Saturday we had an extra set of hands available to help and we were able to take the girls to their first DIY workshop.  They were very excited to get their very own apron and even more excited when they got their very first badge to display on their new aprons at the end.
Grandma Dee Dee and Isabella worked together on her binoculars.  They laughed and smiled, even though I heard Grandma Dee Dee getting nervous about smashed fingers a couple of times...LoL...

I got to work with Emma.  The noise of the hammering bothered her a little, but she was more than tickled pink when she had finished her project and had her very own binoculars.

Josh got the easy kid....since Aiden is an "expert" builder and all...hehehe.... They had fun working together too, I just hardly ever seem to catch Josh smiling when I am hurrying to take a picture....at least I have proof he was there...hehehe...

....The "Build your own Binoculars" workshop was a hit!  All of the kids got to enjoy making something of their own and Grandma Dee Dee got to enjoy being a part of it!!!

These are the kids completed projects!!!

Plus, we got new badges all the way around!  Watch out Athens, you'ns got new builders in town!!!

After we got done building we headed to Athens Regional Park and let the kids get out some energy on the playground.  The girls loved having Grandma Dee Dee and their Daddy pushing them on the swings!

Aiden was here, there, and everywhere!

We even had some fun on the see-saw and the airplane!!!

We came home around 11:30 a.m. to get ready for lunch and to watch the Hokies take on ECU.  Now I don't know what happened between last week and this week, but I was not so impressed...we lost in the end 28 to 21...The Hokies need to step up their game again and come back strong next week.  Once the game was over Aiden and I worked on some his "Bobcat" requirements and his "Tiger Cub Immediate Recognition" requirements.  We made him some posters to practice reading so he can memorize some of the key information about what it means to be a Tiger Cub.  We also read a little bit in his handbook so that we will know what to expect at his first pack meeting.  I will do a little bigger of a post on that in the next few days as well.  For now, it has been a great day and I am off to relax and try to get some extra rest...(and pray that my children will be able to sleep in tomorrow, even til 8 am would be a blessing!)  Good night all!
