Pinewood Derby Contestants for Pack 30! - 2016
What a big day of Cub Scout Fun!
We had our Blue and Gold Banquet, Fella's cake bake/auction and Pinewood Derby today. The church was decked out in blue and gold streamers, balloons, and centerpieces, Racing flags and hanging decorations and blue tablecloths. It looked fantastic! My thanks goes out to everyone that helped with decorating and making it look spectacular. I usually enjoy doing the prep work for big events, but this time I got assigned to the clean-up team and I stayed after the event was over to help clean for as long as I could. We had some awesome cakes to auction off, lots of fun racing and a nice lunch. A big thanks goes out to Woody, Chrissy and "Grandpa" too, for coordinating such an exciting afternoon!
With the hubby in Christiansburg during the week, he had limited time after getting off work at 3:30 pm on Friday to get the cake baked and decorated and help finish the derby cars, but we all worked together and pulled it off!
All of the kids got the cars that they wanted. Is got her rainbow, Em got her Olaf, and A got his "atomic wedgie"...lol what a name...I googled templates and once it was cut and sanded he gave it a paint job and his dad added the weights. Last year he won "People's choice" for design but this year he was going for speed and speed is what he got! My Wolf Cub won 3rd place in the Pack Derby for speed and got an awesome trophy too!!!
Fella's Cake Bake Competition!!!
Before the cakes were auctioned off we got to vote on them and everyone did a really good job that participated. There were 5 categories to vote on: Tallest, Most yummy looking, most creative, best cub scout themed, and flattest. Each of the fellas that won got a small prize. We won tallest cake by a hair and A got some collectible patches that he thought were really cool!

I am so proud of A and my nephew for earning trophies today! One got third place for speed and the other second place for design! WTG boys!
